- Pollution Monitoring
To address their customers’ demand and the increased monitoring complexity required by law, one company chose to turn to Ada for a new air pollution monitoring system.
- Video Security
Vision Systems Ltd. of Australia realized that to keep its video security system competitive and maintain a healthy bottom line it needed to imitate the big software developers' process. As part of the change, its Vision Products ADPRO division switched from C to Ada95 for two of its products.
- Ada Cuts Time 99.5%
Ada has been in use at Paranor since 1985; the staff has been both comfortable and satisfied using it. There is no longer discussion about programming language choice -- the developers always use Ada. And in the case of this project, the customer whole-heartedly agreed.
- For MS Windows
As Ada has excellent constructs for managing complexity and improving robustness of software, it seemed only natural to select an Ada development environment to create the reliability evaluation tool CARMS. We thus have a reliable language for handling reliability evaluation.
- Radio Telescope
Helsinki University of Technology operates a 15-meter microwave radio telescope, in which the main function of the programs is to compute azimuth and elevation commands for the antenna position servo. This is done at a 10 Hz rate using Ada tasks and delay statements.
- Editing Videos
Ada's real time features make it highly suited for computers and television. The TV time scale is one frame every 1/60 second fast enough to require a real time mindset, but slow enough for a PC or Macintosh. Ada's Calendar package and Delay statement allow easy and portable control of timing.
