Ada 2005 Moves Closer to ISO Acceptance
ISO’s Ada Working Group (WG 9) has unanimously accepted the proposed amendment
to the Ada language and has forwarded it to the parent organization for an official
ballot. Formal approval by ISO is expected some time later this year.
GNAT Pro Chosen for Boeing 787 Air Conditioning
Hamilton Sundstrand has chosen ARA Member AdaCore's GNAT Pro as the Ada
development environment for the software running in their Air Conditioning
Pack airborne software configuration, which regulates cabin air temperature
on the Boeing 787 aircraft.
GNAT Pro Ports to HP OpenVMS
AdaCore's GNAT Pro Ada development environment is now available for HP OpenVMS
on HP Integrity servers. It can be used for a broad spectrum of applications,
including database systems, device control and transportation.
Thales Group Adopts AdaCore as Corporate Ada Standard
A global software licencing agreement between the companies will provide flexible,
cost-effective access to the GNAT Pro development environment for Thales' Ada
developers.
AdaCore Implements Ada 2005
AdaCore developed first implementation of Ada 2005, which advances state-of-the-art
programming language design while remaining compatibility with earlier Ada standards.
Ada Answers launches
A new Ada website,
Ada Answers has been launched; it is dedicated to keeping developers and project
managers informed about Ada.
PolyORB is released by AdaCore
PolyORB intends to provide a uniform solution to build distributed applications; it relies and abstracts
industrial-strength middleware standards such as CORBA, the Distributed System
Annex of Ada 95, or on distribution programming paradigms such as Web Services,
Message Oriented Middleware (MOM).
ARA Welcomes PolySpace Technologies
The Ada Resource Association's newest member specializes in tools that
statically analyze embedded software.
ARA Survey Launches
The Ada Resource Association is conducting an on-line survey of Ada
usage. The survey is designed to quantify the global Ada
